New Painting – Bear Hill at Sunset from Elk Lake

After a long week or two of a grey, otherworldly sky due to smoke from wildfires in British Columbia, finally it started to clear, and looking up we could see blue sky, and the shapes of clouds again. When the sun set, it cast rays through the clouds in the smoke that still lingered. There was relief in the air. The sky had returned.

Prints and the original painting available are available here.

Sidney Fine Art Show 2017

I am pleased to announce some of my work has been selected to be in the 2017 Sidney Fine Art Show.

I’m particularly gratified by this because one of the Jurors, Mike Svob, is an artist whose landscape paintings, rich in texture and colour, are a big inspiration for me.

The show will be at the Mary Winspear Centre in Sidney BC, October 13-15.

I am not sure which painting or paintings were chosen at this point, More details to follow!

New Painting – Islands at Swartz Bay

Every time I am on the ferry returning home to Vancouver Island I breathe a sigh of contentment when the ferry docks in the terminal. I always enjoy watching the scenery change on the ferry; there is a slow transformation of surroundings, from malls and the coal terminal to the trees and rocky beaches of the gulf islands. This painting depicts islands that can be seen from the ferry just before it docks in Swartz Bay.

Prints and the original painting are available here.
