I grew up in Calgary, not far from Kananaskis Provincial Park and I spent much of my youth camping, hiking, and exploring there with my scout troop. At that time I took the scale of the Rockies for granted, but when I visit now I am always overwhelmed by their size; and their chiseled and hewn shapes that appear like they must have been sculpted by giants.
