Our first trip out of the season, we explored all the nooks and crannies of the shoreline near our campsite on Kayaks. Coming back from the petroglyphs, I stopped at this spot for a while, and vowed to come back when the sun was closer to the horizon. When I did, the water was still, and the light gave the sky and water’s surface a metallic sheen. I took the photo I based this painting on while bobbing there, gently on the lake.
