We recently observed the longest night of the year, Christmas is upon us, and the year is coming to a close.
It’s been a big year for me as an artist. As I look back I am moved to write about how much I appreciate all the support I’ve received from you. You might be someone I’ve known and loved for decades. You might be someone who bought an original painting or print. You might be someone who saw a painting in your feed, and took a moment to give it a like on social media. All of these things have meaning for me.
I’d like to think I’d paint regardless of what the world thought of my work. I always do love to paint; but there are times when it’s a struggle. The support and appreciation that comes my way is a wind at my back, and it makes it easier to push through when it’s not coming easy.
So as I write this to you today, whether you are one of the folks I know so well, or just someone who complimented a painting of mine on Facebook once, I offer you sincere and heartfelt thanks, and I wish you the best for this festive, chilly, dark and cozy time of year!
