I painted this from a photo I took on the ferry. I remember watching the skies and the clouds as we sailed along, seeing them change colours in the warm light from a purplish grey to pinks, yellows and oranges. Sunsets and sunrises are spectacular; it’s somehow hard to imagine they happen every day. For that matter, somewhere on our planet, at every moment, the sun is rising somewhere, and setting somewhere, just as it always has.
